Biography

Chris Renk is adjunct lecturer in music in general studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He is a Jacobs School Dean’s Prize winner and has studied at the Aspen Music Festival and School.

A composer of adventurous, imaginative music, his work is often inspired by other artistic traditions and has drawn from such diverse sources as prehistoric cave paintings, Art Deco architecture and design, calligraphy, photography, and the paintings of Vincent van Gogh.

He is active as a collaborator and has worked with filmmakers, poets, choreographers, and game designers. He is currently working on a series of video pieces to accompany his concert music in live performance and online.
