Academic Specialist (Music IT)
Sebastiano (Sebastian) Bisciglia is academic specialist in music IT at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He joins the Music IT Services team as a music instructional technology developer.
A native of Montréal, Canada, he holds an M.A. from McGill University and a Ph.D. in music theory from the Eastman School of Music. His research uses a computational methodology to examine statistical questions about 12-tone rows and music, the findings of which he has presented at Music Theory Midwest and the annual conference of the Society for Music Theory.
Before joining the Jacobs School, Bisciglia was a visiting instructor of music theory and aural skills at Oberlin College and an assistant professor of music theory at the University of Toronto, where he developed web-based tools for his post-tonal theory courses.
