Visiting Assistant Professor (Jazz Studies)
Grammy-nominated Jeremy Fox is a highly in-demand clinician and has presented clinics and served as guest conductor of all-state and honor choral and instrumental ensembles throughout the United States and Canada.
He earned his B.M. in Piano-Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University and his M.M. and D.M.A. in Jazz Composition from the University of Miami. For eight years, he was a full-time instructor at Phil Mattson’s School for Music Vocations, conducting vocal and instrumental ensembles. In 2017, he will coordinate the 14th Annual School for Music Vocations Vocal Jazz Camps around the United States and in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Fox has received 10 awards from DownBeat magazine, including for Best Written Song, Best Arrangement, Studio Engineering, and his small vocal ensemble. His inaugural album, With Love (Jazzbill Records), was released to iTunes and Amazon in April 2014 to rave reviews. His arrangement of “All My Tomorrows” featuring Kate McGarry was nominated for Best Arrangement–Instruments and Vocals at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
