The Indiana University Marching Hundred will be the first college marching band to perform at the new Lucas Oil Stadium when the Indianapolis Colts play their first regular season game this Sunday (Sept. 7) at 8:15 p.m. on national television. The Indiana University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Professor Stephen W. Pratt, will perform as a featured ensemble at the Music Educators National Conference in Milwaukee, Wis., April 12. Jacobs School Assistant Professor and saxophonist Otis Murphy will solo with the ensemble. Also represented at the conference are members of the IU Jacobs School of Music's Music Education Department, led by Department Chair Associate Professor Lissa May, who is current president of the Indiana Music Educators Association, the statewide chapter of the MENC.   Full Story

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music announced today (April 10) that Jeffrey Gershman has been named Associate Professor of Music and Associate Director of Bands/Wind Conducting. He will join the Jacobs School faculty at the beginning of the fall semester.   Full Story

The Indiana University Marching Hundred has been named the recipient of the 2007 Sudler Intercollegiate Marching Band Trophy, the nation's highest and most coveted award for college and university marching bands.
