As interim head coach of the Opera Theater at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, Kimberly Carballo coordinates the musical preparation of each opera and guides the professional development of the graduate assistant coaches. Her previous engagements include: Compañía Lírica Nacional de Costa Rica (mainstage and young artists' program coach); Conservatorio Musical de Alajuela, Costa Rica (vocal coach); Universidad Nacional in Costa Rica (vocal coach); and Universidad de Costa Rica (vocal and instrumental coach and associate professor). She also draws on more than twenty years of coaching experience and collaboration with renowned artists, including many IU faculty members, and the preparation and presentation of art song recitals, instrumental recitals, and opera productions. In addition to her duties at the Jacob School of Music, Ms. Carballo continues to be an active pedagogue and recitalist.
