Biography
A collaborator with internationally known vocalists since 1988, Shuichi Umeyama has performed numerouse concerts as a soloist and accompanist. His repertoire includes concertos by Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and others. Mr. Umeyama's recitals have been broadcast on Japan National Broadcasting (NHK).
Mr. Umeyama has served as coach and accompanist for the Indianapolis Opera and Opera Memphis. In addition, he has served as an official accompanist for many competitions throughout the United States.
Mr. Umeyama is a former music director of the Aoyama Theater and the Belvillage Opera Theater in Japan. He studied accompanying with violist Wiliam Primrose.
