Background:
Michael Schwartzkopf has a joint appointment in the choral conducting and music education departments in the School of Music and serves as director and conductor for the IU Singing Hoosiers. In addition, he has served as music director and conductor of musical theatre productions for the IU Theatre Department and the School of Music.
Professor Schwartzkopf has conducted choirs and sung on the concert stages and in the cathedrals of Europe and the United States. He is in demand as an adjudicator, lecturer, clinician, and festival conductor and has conducted numerous state, regional, and all-state choirs throughout the United States and Europe. He is president-elect of the Central Division of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
